Now, once again, it’s time to grow.
On December 18, 2021, we rebranded from Konnect Applications to Moonward.
At the time, the step felt essential. Our old name had no IP protection, and “Connect” was so overused that it seemed like every man and his dog was running with it. Even our clever little swap of a ‘K’ instead of a ‘C’ didn’t win over the IP lawyer - apparently, we weren’t quite as original as we thought.
By luck, chance, or maybe something bigger, we crossed paths with Steve and Paul from Untold. They took our young team - and our young selves - on a journey that changed the course of our business forever.
That December, they revealed our new brand. Our new mountain. We could see ourselves standing at its base, staring up at all the work it would take to climb. It was a brand bigger than who we were at the time. One we would have to grow into. And, looking back now, it really did take three years, nine months, and four days to fill those boots.
The journey shaped us in ways we couldn’t have imagined. Along the way we cycled through two office spaces and fitouts in Brisbane’s CBD, worked with countless clients, celebrated big wins, and absorbed some hard lessons. We began to see, through both triumph and trial, what Moonward really does best - and simply put, we wanted to do more of it.
Life happened, too. Along the way, our team has celebrated engagements, house purchases, births, travels, and adventures. We’ve also shared in the harder moments - farewells, and even the loss of a teammate who left a lasting mark on us all. Through it all, we’ve been surrounded by incredible people who have contributed to Moonward’s story, each shaping who we are today. We didn’t just grow as a company - we grew as people. And in time, we became the people who deserved to belong to a company like Moonward.
Now, once again, it’s time to grow. We’ve taken another moonshot, with Steve and Paul by our side again, to evolve Moonward into its next chapter. This time, we moved towards an icon - because we don’t just want to be recognised, we want to be iconic.
The icon itself is inspired by perspective: how every experience shapes the way you see the world, and how our journey has continually reframed the way we build, create, and lead. Moonward has always meant going beyond - charting new paths, and sometimes discovering the way only as you walk it. The icon is a reminder of that spirit, and a signal of the next mountain we’re climbing.
Over the next few months, you’ll start to see this new chapter unfold.
