The Challenge: Inheriting Someone Else's Work
Grocery Go had been partially built by another team. The handover left the client with a codebase, a set of designs, and a wishlist of features, but no clear picture of what actually worked, what was broken, and what still needed to be done. Before a single line of new code was written, someone needed to do the hard work: getting across a codebase they didn't write, auditing designs that may not match the build, and assessing an architecture that may or may not hold up under real conditions.

Full Recovery Audit
Moonward conducted a thorough review of the inherited codebase, designs, and technical architecture. Every layer of the product was assessed: what was working, what was broken, what was missing, and what needed to be rebuilt. The audit gave the Grocery Go team a clear, honest picture of where their product stood and what it would take to get it live. With the audit complete, Moonward worked through the issues identified and resolved them systematically. Bugs that had been blocking launch, inconsistencies between design and build, and structural problems in the codebase were all addressed before any new work began.

What really sets them apart is their intuition; they consistently anticipate needs before I even have to voice them, backed by deep general knowledge and a serious skillset across the board.
Product Founder

project team
With the codebase stabilised and the product complete, Moonward supported the full launch of Grocery Go on both the Apple App Store and Google Play. The app is now live across Australia, actively comparing Coles and Woolworths prices for subscribers. Getting the app live was the beginning, not the end. Moonward now works with the Grocery Go team on an active growth plan, continuing to develop the product and targeting the platform towards sustainable user growth as the app scales.

From Rescue to Growth
The Grocery Go story is one of the most honest in software: a great idea, a difficult handover, and a team willing to do the unglamorous work of getting it right before pushing forward. Moonward stepped in when the project needed someone to take ownership, delivered a thorough audit, resolved the outstanding issues, and got the product live. Now, with the app in market and a growth plan in place, the focus shifts to what Grocery Go can become.
